HAlEIWA, Hawaii-- U.S. Army Pfc. William Weiglein a carpentry and masonry specialist assigned to the 1156th Engineer Company 204th Engineer Battalion New York Army National Guard uses a club hammer to move a board into place during an Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) mission at Camp Paumalu Haleiwa HI July 31 2019.Engineers from the Air Force Air National Guard and the Marine Corps have been working at the camp since May to help build a Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) activity center. The IRT is a joint service program that provides real-world training opportunities for the U.S. militarys Reserves and National Guard service members to prepare them for wartime missions while supporting the needs of Americas underserved communities.
