Engineers Get Unique Training Opportunity

LATHAM--New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 827th Engineer Company prepare to hoist the AH-1S Cobra attack helicopter displayed in front of Division of Military and Naval Affairs headquarters off its pedestal on Thursday, Oct. 25. The helicopter, once flown by New York Army National Guard aviators, will be cleaned and repainted before being remounted once again. The exercise gave the engineers a chance to practice using their crane, said Lt. Col. James Freehart, the commander of the 204th Engineer Battalion.

BUFFALO--Jessica Bacon, a New York Army National Guard family member from Horseheads, NY proudly displays a sweatshirt bearing the name of her husband Ron’s unit during a Yellow Ribbon Re-integration Program Event held for the 827th Engineer Company at the Buffalo Hyatt Hotel and Conference Center on Saturday, April 2, 2011. The event allowed Soldiers who returned from Afghanistan last month, and their families, to explore the benefits they are entitled to and the support systems that are available for them.
