JOINT BASER MYER-HENDERSON HALL, Virginian-- Soldiers assigned to the Army's 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) portray members of the Harlem Hellfighters of the 369th Infantry Regiment New York Army National Guard in a vignette on the 369ths World War I service as part of the Military District of Washingtons Twilight Tattoo at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Virginia. The vignette touched on the regiments service on the battlefield as well as the contributions the regimental band made to jazz music.

Maj Curtis Moss senior enlisted advisor to the commander of the brigade at Camp Arifjan Kuwait Feb. 21 2023. Spc. Sayal was chosen because she demonstrates confidence and competence far above her rank having worked on numerous investigations and projects within the legal section. Sgt. Billalba was chosen for his outstanding work with a forward logistics site he was able to thrive with despite great adversity.

Army makes Hellfighters nickname official

In this National Guard historic painting titled "Hell Fighters from Harlem", men of the 369th Infantry Regiment go into action in Sechault, France on Sept. 29, 1918. A third of the regiment's 3,000 men were killed or wounded in this advance. The 369th has carried the title Harlem Hellfighters since World War I but it was only officially recognized by the Army in September when the Center of Military History approved the name as the special designation for the 369th Sustainment Brigade

Michel Natali the commander of the 53rd Troop Command during a ceremony at Camp Smith Training Site in Cortlandt Manor N.Y. on Saturday August 2. The 369th Sustainment Brigade traces its history back to the 369th Infantry Brigade of World War I. The African-American unit was nicknamed the Harlem Hell Fighters and spent more time in the front lines than any other unit in the war. CAMP ARIFJAN, KUWAIT--Soldiers of the 369th Sustainment Brigade celebrate the National Guards 380th birthday with a cake cutting ceremony Dec. 13, 2016 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The National Guard is the oldest component of the U.S. military and traces its roots to Dec. 13, 1636 when the first militia regiments in North America were organized in Massachusetts. The 369th SB is a New York Army National Guard unit currently deployed in Kuwait in support of logistics operations in the U.S. Central Command area of operations.

Scouts Build Bikes for Guard Families

Harlen Hellfighters March in Veterans Day Parade

NEW YORK-- Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard's 369th Sustainment Brigade head down 5th Avenue during the New York City Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday, Nov. 11. More than 1,000 members of the brigade, as well as the 42nd Infantry Division Band and members of the New York Guard, the state's volunteer defense force, participated in the annual event.

CAMP ATTERBURY, IN--Col. David Martinez, commander of the New York Army National Guard's 369th Sustainment Brigade, participates in discussion Oct. 25 during First Army's first Total Force Sustainment Readiness Commanders Conference at Camp Atterbury, Ind. Attending the conference were commanders of Army National Guard and Army Reserve sustainment units, along with commanders of their active-duty sustainment unit training partners, and senior leaders from First Army, National Guard Bureau, Army Reserve, U.S. Forces Command and Combined Arms Support Command. Participants worked on building partnerships and discussed how to maximize opportunities to provide the readiness training reserve-component sustainment units want and need.

Harlem Armory Upgrade Getting Underway

The New York Army National Guards historic 1930s-era Harlem Armory- the home of the famous 369th Harlem Hell Fighters is under going a two-year 42 million renovation project. When completed the Art Deco landmark will be upgraded to serve the National Guard of the 21st Century.

Finance Troops Mobilize for Overseas Service

369th Soldiers Train in Mali

MOPTI, Mali--New York Army National Guard Command Sgt. Maj. Justin Lenz, a Bellmore, N.Y. native with the 369th Sustainment Brigade and Malian army Lt. Abdrahamane Kone, a native from Mopti, Mali acting as Security Operations for Malian Defense Force, have a discussion after the opening ceremony of Atlas Accord ’12 Feb. 9, at Mopti Airfield. Coordinating operations and exchanging ideas for Atlas Accord ’12, a U.S. Army Africa-sponsored bilateral humanitarian and partnership exercise focusing on aerial resupply to remote areas. The 369th sent 35 Soldiers to participate in the logistics exercise.

Guard Soldiers Assist in WTC Steel Transfer

NEW YORK - Soldiers from the New York Army National Guard’s 369th Sustainment Brigade secure a piece of World Trade Center steel in the bed of a military vehicle here at the Port Authority warehouse in Brooklyn July 26. The Soldiers ( from left) Staff Sgt. Nicholas Pelliccio from the brigade headquarters company, Spec. Sebastian Rothwyn from the 719th Transportation Company, Staff Sgt. Anthony Marshall of the 369th Early Entry Element, Capt. J.C. Bravo of the brigade headquarters company and Spc. Diego Castro of the Early Entry Element, helped transport the WTC artifact for shipment via FedEx to Athens Ga. The artifact, a 923-pound piece of steel some six and a half feet long, is destined for display at the Oconee Veterans Park near Athens, Ga. The Georgia Army National Guard provided the U.S. Colors for the honors at the artifact pickup. Army Guard Major Promoted to Police Lieutenant

NEW YORK -- New York Army National Guard Maj. Sergio Hidalgo, a native of the Dominican Republic, received a promotion to the rank of lieutenant in the New York City Police Department (NYPD) March 26 at One Police Plaza. Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly acknowledged Hidalgo for his outstanding work with the New York City Police Department. Stock Exchange Salutes Troops

Harlem Hellfighters Help Lead NYC Veterans' Parade

NEW YORK -- New York Army National Guard Col. Stephanie Dawson leads her command and staff of the 369th Sustainment Brigade, the Army's famous "Harlem Hellfighters" up 5th Avenue during the New York City Veterans' Day Parade Nov. 11. The unit led a New York Army National Guard contingent of nearly 1,500 Soldiers from all five boroughs as New York City celebrated the 90th anniversary of the parade. The daylong event also celebrated the recent commissioning of the USS New York with Naval and Marine contingents from the ship participating in the parade.

Intrepid Air and Space Museum, marking the 234th anniversay of the United States Army. Traditionally the youngest Soldier present joins the oldest Soldier in cutting the cake at Army Birthday events.

Harlem Guardsmen Made Black History

The African-American Soldiers of the 369th Infantry Regiment Harlem Hellfighters charge into the hell of the Argonne Forest in September 1917 as they advance to capture the French village of Sechault, in this painting from the U.S. Army History Series. The unit?s heroism in this battle won the men of the former New York National Guard?s 15th Infantry Regiment the unit Croix de Guerre, the highest unit award in the French Army. ?My men never retire, they go forward or they die,? said Colonel William Hayward, the regiment?s commander. The traditions of the 369th Infantry Regiment are recalled during Black History Month by the men and women of the New York Army National Guard?s 369th Sustainment Brigade.
