NEW YORK ADJUTANT GENERAL‘S AWARD
To whom awarded:
Awarded to individuals, both military and civilian, who have distinguished themselves while serving in any capacity and have made a significant contribution in support of and/or has favorably enhanced the New York State Organized Militia or the DMNA.
How requested
Recommendations for The Adjutant General's Award will be submitted through the appropriate major component’s awards area of responsibility, if applicable, to The Adjutant General, ATTN: MNP-AWD using DMNA Form Letter 50-R (DMNA Reg 672-1, Figure 2.16) and will be accompanied by a citation in accordance with the sample and guidelines outlined in DMNA Reg 672-1, Figure 2.17. Recommendations will be forwarded to The Adjutant General Military Awards Board for review, recommendation, and subsequent approval/disapproval by The Adjutant General.
How awarded
Upon approval, MNP-AWD will prepare the certificate, citation and pin. Approved completed packets will be forwarded through respective component’s awards area of responsibility prior to forwarding to requesting command, as applicable for presentation. Civilian awards will be forwarded to requesting directorate or requestor.
