As an Army Chaplain you will be responsible for the care and spiritual well-being of your Soldiers during peace and wartime missions. Regardless of a Soldiers religious background, Chaplains minister to their spiritual wellness and are available to help them through a variety of personal and professional issues. Chaplains are noncombatants and do not carry a weapon.
You do not need to wait until your ordination to join the Army National Guard Chaplaincy. You have the opportunity to begin your service in the Army Chaplain Corps while continuing your training for your ministry. The training and experience you will receive as a chaplain candidate will add a special dimension to your seminary education. Additionally, some seminaries offer academic credit for your training as a Chaplain Candidate.
All Chaplain Candidates serve at JFHQ in Latham, NY
