Shawn Chapple, a member of the 107th Military Police Company, moves a simulated casualty downrange during the Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition here on August 6. Chapple was one of 14 Army National Guard NCOs and enlisted Soldiers competing for top honors. Chapple, who represented the Northeast in the competition didn’t win but did well, according to New York State Command Sgt. Major Frank Wicks.

The evaluate a casualty task was just one of eight warrior tasks required during the Warrior Task testing conducted as part of the 2011 National Guard Bureau’s Region 1 Best Warrior Competition held at Camp Smith Training Area, Cortlandt, NY, May 10-12. Region 1 encompasses the northeastern states and 14 enlisted Soldiers and Non-Commissioned Officers took part in the event.
