CAMP JOSEPH T. ROBINSON, Arkansas-- New York Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Jeffrey Dorvee a member of the 1427th Transportation Company carries five-gallon water cans during the 2014 Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition at Camp Joseph T. Robinson Arkansas July 14 2014. Dorvee was one of 14 competitors in the competition--which tests competitors on a variety of tactical and technical skills in a physically and mentally demanding environment--vying to earn the title of Best Warrior and become the Soldier and Noncommissioned Officer of the Year for the Army Guard. The winners of the competition will go on to represent the Army Guard in the Department of the Army level Best Warrior Competition later this year.Winners are expected to be announced before the end of July.

CAMP ETHAN ALLEN, V.T.--New York Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Jeff Dorvee--pictured here during the road march competition-- an Active Guard and Reserve member of the 1427th Medium Truck Company, won in the NCO category of the Northeast Regional Army National Guard Best Warrior Competition at Camp Ethan Allen May 13-16. Dorvee outdid competitors from New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont,Maine, and New Hampshire to take the NCO honors. He will compete for the top spot in the Army National Guard in July.

WATERVLIET ARSENAL - New York Army National Guard Lt. Tracy Pauquette receives her gold bar as a newly commissioned second lieutenant from Capt. John Klimes during a commissioning ceremony here Jan. 19. Pauquette, from Granville, N.Y., recently graduated from the National Guard Accelerated Officer Candidate School. She was previously assigned as a sergeant in the 1427th Transportation Company in Queensbury and will remain in the same company, serving now as an officer in charge of Soldiers. GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- New York Army National Guard Soldiers from the 466th Area Support Medical Company and 1427th Transportation Company step off for the 2011 Christmas Eve road march in Glens Falls, N.Y. WATERVLIET-- Soldiers from the New York Army National Guard’s 1427 Transportation Company work with employees of the Watervliet Arsenal to unload an experimental cannon at the Arsenal’s museum on Wednesday, April 13. The one-of-a-kind light weight 155 millimeter howitzer had been designed by the Arsenal as part of a 1995 crash program to put a lighter-weight towed weapon in troop’s hands. The gun never went into production but the prototype has been stored in Vermont where the National Guard Soldiers picked it up for transport to the Arsenal.

HUDSON FALLS--New York Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Dan Allen explains the mechanics of a M998 Humve to students at the Warren-Washington BOCES on Tuesday, May 12. Allen, a member of the 1427th Transportation Co. was taking part in the Recruiting Command's "Humvee School Program". The program brings Humvees-- in this case one borrowed from the 466th Medical Company, into area BOCES--Board of Cooperative Educational Services-- schools and allows the students to perform Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on the vehicle. The students get a T-shirt and a chance to find out about maintenance careers in the Army National Guard.

Members of the New York Army National Guard's 1427th Medium Truck Company inspect their trucks before departing for Annual Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama on April 24. The company is part of the 501st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Battalion which also includes an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company and an MP company. The New York Citizen Soldiers will spend their 21-day Annual Training period practicing convoy operations and anti-IED techniques. The convoy staged at Stratton Air National Guard Base, home of the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing in Scotia, New York.
