Chief Master Sergeant Richard D. King
Command Chief Master Sergeant, New York Air National Guard
Chief Master Sergeant Richard D. King currently serves as the State Command Chief Master Sergeant of the New York Air National Guard, Joint Forces Headquarters Latham NY.
In his position as the State Command Chief Master Sergeant, he reports directly to the Adjutant General on all enlisted issues, to include professional military education, enlisted promotions, mentorship, morale, family and community relations, as well as esprit de corps. Chief Master Sergeant King joined the United States Air Force in October 1978 and transferred via the Palace Front program to the New York Air National Guard in October 1982. Chief Master Sergeant King served as Security Police/Forces Specialist for 22yrs.
Chief Master Sergeant King also completed a 6 year Special Duty assignment as a Air National Guard First Sergeant. Chief Master Sergeant King has deployed in support of several operations including Operation Bold Eagle, Operation Decisive/Joint Endeavour, Operation Bright Star 2000, Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Chief Master Sergeant King’s most recent deployments were as the NCOIC of Anti Terrorism and Force Protection at Peter J. Ganci AB, Manas Kyrgyzstan (2002-2003), and US Naval Station Diego Garcia, Indian Ocean 2005. Chief Master Sergeant King was also deployed as the Group Superintendent, 322nd Air Base Wing, 447th Air Expeditionary Group, Scott D. Sather Air Base, Baghdad Iraq, 2008.Chief Master Sergeant King retired as a Police Officer with the City of Niagara Falls, New York in October 2009 after 21years of service, serving in several positions to include Patrol Officer, Street Crimes Unit Officer, Field Training Officer, Academy Instructor, and Special Weapons and Tactics.
