FORT SILL, Ok. - The New York Army National Guard welcomed five new field artillery officers following graduation of the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader"s Course here Jan. 11. Pictured from left are Brig. Gen. Thomas S. Vandal, Commandant of the Field Artillery School, 2nd Lt. Chad Teger, 2nd Lt. Elite Won and Lt. Col. Michael Hoblin, commander of the 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery from Jamaica, N.Y. The course provides new officers with in-depth knowledge in the area of fire support, observed fire, fire direction and platoon leadership as it pertains to the Field Artillery Branch. The 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery"s newest lieutenants achieved high marks in the course, including 2nd Lts. Elite Won from Lansdale, Penn. as Honor Graduate and both Anthony Scollante from Brooklyn, N.Y. and Eric Staufenberg from New York, N.Y. achieving Commandant"s List. Second Lieutenants Chad Teger and Christopher Wallace, both from from the Bronx, N.Y., rounded out the new artillery officer graduates.
