CHEEKTOWAGA--New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the 827th Engineer Battalion clear snow at the Cheekowaga Senior Citizens Center in Cheektowaga New York on Dec. 216 2022 as part of the New York state government response to a major snowstorm. The New York National Guard deployed 433 Soldiers to western New York following the snow storm which hit the region over the Christmas weekend.

KINGSTON-- A New York Army National Guard Soldier from the 204th Engineer Battalion works to take down the Kings Inn, an abandoned building on Broadway here, on Wednesday, October 18. Twenty-five members of the 827th Engineer Company and the 1156th Engineer company are taking down the building so that the site can be used for a joint New York National Guard/civilian first responder exercise on Nov. 5. The partially demolished motel will replicate a building hit by a terrorist attack.

HORSEHEADS-- Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard’s 827th Engineer Company arrive at the airport here on Wednesday, Feb. 16 to be greeted by the Adjutant General, Major General Patrick Murphy, and other Army Guard leaders following a 10-month mission in Afghanistan. The Soldiers, based at armories in Walton, Horseheads and Buffalo were reunited with their families shortly afterwards.

"I think it will be a good experience." The Soldiers reported to the company's main armory in Horseheads following the Thursday ceremony. BUFFALO--Capt. Jeffery Miles, commander of the New York Army National Guard's 827th Engineer Co. shares a moment with his daughter Oliva and wife Heather, during a mobilization ceremony for the Soldiers heading to Afghanistan with the company on Thursday, Feb. 18 at the Conneticut Street Armory here. Eighty Soldiers from the Buffalo-based 152nd Engineer Support Company are mobilizing to deploy with the 827th, based in Horseheads. About 300 people turned out for the event. This will be the second overseas deployment for about 25 percent of the unit. The unit is comprised of various tradesmen, college students, public and private employees from the region. The unit's primary mission for Operation Enduring Freedom will be to build roads in the rugged and undeveloped regions of Eastern Afghanistan. Miles praised his soldiers hard work in preparing the mission as well as their performance during past state emergencies in the region including the floods which struck Western New York last August.

SPC Patrick E. McCarthy, 827th Engineer Company, New York Army National Guard, operates a D7 bulldozer in an attempt to restore the washed away protions of the Holiday Brook Road and return the Holiday Brook back to its original course Thursday, June 21, 2007. After heavy rains Tuesday evening, a flash flood removed portions of the road, destroyed 1 home and damaged several others. Four persons were reported missing after the flood waters receded.
