WEST POINT--New York Army National Guard first lieutenants Adrian Smith left and John Gamalski are administered the oath of office by Major General Michel Natali the assistant adjutant general Army for the New York National Guard during a promotion and award ceremony at the United States Military Academy at West Point on June 7 2024. The two men were recognized for completing the Interservice Physicians Assistant Program with their degrees and promotions to first lieutenant.

CAMP SMITH--New York Army National Guard 1st Lt. Timothy Foster administers the first COVID-19 vaccination to Army National Guard 1st Sgt. Steven Seidenstein assigned to the 442nd Military Police Company and deployed with the Joint Task Force COVID Response element at the Camp Smith Training Site N.Y. December 17 2020. CAMP SMITH--Pfc. Tyler Kinzel, a Port Jervis, N.Y., resident assigned to Medical Command, New York Army National Guard, begins bag-mask ventilating a medical mannequin after inserting an endotracheal tube through the esophagus under the direction of Dr. Anar Patel on Aug. 5, 2014, during annual training at Camp Smith Training Site, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. The procedure would be done by Patel, an emergency room physician from Albany Medical Center who was invited to attend a day of training with the New York Army National Guard medics at the Camp Smith Training Site on Aug. 5 and give them tips on how to improve this skill.

SARATOGA SPRINGS N.Y.-- Japanese researcher Yukari Akatsuka the secretary general of Kuentai-USA a non governmental group which specializes in locating and retrieving the remains of World War II dead fires up her computer as New York State Military Museum Librarian Jim Gandy prepares records for her to scan on Tuesday July 29. The group which focuses on finding the remains of Japanese Soldiers killed during World War II is planning to conduct a dig where they think missing American Soldiers who fought with the New York National Guards 105th Infantry Regiment during World War II may be buried. Akatsuka and a colleague visited the museum to go through data in hopes of refining the search area.
