NEW YORK-- New York Army National Guard Pvt. Mathew Burke from Mechanicville N.Y.(left), and Pfc. Janelle McKoy from New Windsor N.Y., both assigned to the 104th Military Police Battalion, deliver COVID 19 test kits to a nursing facility in The Bronx N.Y. on May 26 2020. New York National Guard troops produced 350,000 test kits over the Memorial Day weekend to send to nursing homes across the state and delivered supplies to 136 nursing facilities in the Bronx and Queens. New York National Guard members are supporting the multi-agency response to COVID-19.

The National Guard members trained alongside city, county and state first responders for a simulated radiological dispersion device, known as a dirty bomb in downtown Kingston.

POMONA-- New York National Guardsmen practice evacuating the victim of a terrorist attack from a contaminated environment at the Rockland County Fire Training Center here on Saturday, Nov. 20. Almost 500 members of the New York Army and Air National Guard, along with volunteers of the New York Guard, the state defense force participated in the weekend exercise along with civilian first responders. The training event tested the skills of the Guard force that is specially trained to rescue victims from contaminated buildings, decontaminate them, and provide medical treatment, and also exercised New York National Guard command and control systems and logistics.
