NY Soldier honored for Virgin Islands service

ST. CROIX, Virgin Islands-- Lt. Gen. Timothy Kadavy the Director of the Army National Guard presents a coin to StaffSgt. Patrick Hahn a member of the New York Army National Guards 105th Military Police Company at U.S. Virgin Islands Joint Force Headquarters on St. Croix on Oct. 5 2017. Hahn was recognizd for his hard work during Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The 105th Military Police Company deployed 97 Soldiers to the U.S. Virgin Islands in the wake of Hurricans Irma and Maria.

MP Soldiers headed for Virgin Islands

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION-- Soldiers from the 105th Military Police Company of the New York Army National Guard board a C-130 assigned to the 152nd Airlift Wing of the Nevada Air National Guard at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station on Sept. 25, 2017. The Soldiers are being ferried to the U.S. Virgin Islands where they will provide hurricane relief Niagara Falls N.Y. Sept. 25 2017. More than 20 members of the 105th MP Co. loaded equipment and personnel and began their deployment to the U.S. Virgin Islands ahead of more Soldiers flying later in the week.

On Duty for Buffalo Snow Jan. 9

BUFFALO--New York National Guard response forces from the 105th Military Police Company provide traffic control near Buffalo, New York following substantial lake effect snowfall across Western New York January 9. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo activated approximately 100 National Guard members to provide augmentation to law enforcement during the snowfall, which forced the closure of the New York State Thruway and local roads in the region. The Guard employed three initial response forces with humvees and personnel for the traffic control missions, ensuring motorists avoided the closed roads.

Buffalo Bills Salute New York Troops During Game

ORCHARD PARK, Buffalo-- One hundred New York Army National Guardsmen reaffirm their oath of service and later participated in a flag unfurling at the start of a Buffalo Bills National Football League game here Nov. 6 at Ralph Wilson Stadium, where the Bills hosted the New York Jets. Soldiers with the 42nd Infantry Division, 53rd Troop Command and 204th Engineer Battalion Forward Support Co. took part in the ceremony, which was taped and played during the games half-time in front of a sold-out crowd of 70,000 spectators. NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION-- Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard’s 105th Military Police Company and almost 700 guests and well-wishers listen as Major General Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General of New York, addresses the 110 Soldiers who are deploying to Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn during a deployment ceremony here on Wednesday, March 9. The Buffalo-based Military Police Company deployed to Iraq in 2003 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom I.

Buffalo College Student Is Army Guard's Best Soldier

LATHAM- Spec. Wiliam Hoch, a member of the 105th MP Co. was picked as the New York Army National Guard's Soldier of the Year, Sunday, March 28 following a weekend of competition and boards conducted at Division of Military and Naval Affairs Headquarters. Hoch, a student at Medialle College in Buffalo, was picked as the best junior enlisted Soldier in the 10,600-member New York Army National Guard. Staff Sgt. Joshua Todd, an instructor with the 106th Regiment (Regional Training Institute) was the Traditional NCO of the Year, while Sgt. Sean Cronin, a unit administrator with the 204th Engineer Battalion was the AGR NCO of the Year.

Soldiers March Against Hunger in Buffalo

BUFFALO--Citizen Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard and Army Reserve march through Buffalo on Saturday, Dec. 5 as they collect food for the Western New York Food Bank. They were joined by "Hondo" a member of the Legacy Veterans Motorcycle Club and a Vietnam veteran. The Soldiers collected 2000 pounds of food during their 10-mile Roadmarch.

Summertime Training for Decontamination Team

Soldiers from the New York Army National Guard’s 105th Military Police Company assemble a decontamination line during training at Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station on August 7. The Soldiers are preparing for certification as part of the New York National Guard’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Explosive (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP), the state’s military force trained and equipped to support first responders with casualty extraction, evacuation, decontamination and medical triage for hazardous material or weapons of mass destruction events.
