Active Duty to GUARD

For Over 370 years, New York Army National Guard team members have been proven in war and proud in peace. The GUARD is composed primarily of traditional GUARD members-soldiers who serve their country, state, and community on a part-time basis. Each state, territory and District of Columbia has its own National Guard as provided for by the Constitution of the United States

Current Army active duty members can transfer to the GUARD upon separating from Active Duty (AD). To start the processes contact an Officer Strength Manager (OSM) and your Transition Career Counselor in your location.
