NYANG Image SMITHTOWN-- New York Air National Guard Tech Sgt. Nate Dean,a member of the 106th Maintenance Operations Flight, displays his first fluke of the day, during the annual Soldiers on the Sound fishing trip organized for military members by the Smithtown Bay Yacht Club on July 24. The fish had to be thrown back because it was too small to keep. Members of the 106th Rescue Wing, from F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base, were the majority of participants for the event which paired the Airmen with civilians who took them on their boat to fish. The main fish the members sought to catch was the fluke. Out of the 18 boats which were deployed for the event only four regulation size fish were caught. The winning fluke was caught by SSgt. Derek Wallace, 106th Vehicle Maintenance, and it measured 4 lbs 3 ounces.
