NYANG Image WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY -- New York Air National Guard members of the 106th Rescue Wing begin the work of dismantling an F-102 Delta Dagger which had been a display aircraft at the F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base gate here on Oct. 21. The aircraft, which was once flown by the 106th when it was an interceptor group, was damaged during Hurricane Sandy. 106th Rescue Wing maintainers and pararescue men practiced raising the aircraft off the ground and cutting into it as an exercise in rescuing injured aircrew before finishing the demolition.
