JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR- HICKAM, HAWAII-- Tim Goddard, from NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, explains how to inflate the "Front Porch" floatation device for NASA's Orion spacecraft crew module to New York Air National Guard pararescuemen assigned to the 103rd Rescue Squadron's 106th Rescue Wing at Joint Base Pearl Harbor- Hickam, Hawaii on March 1, 2017. The Front Porch would provide a place to offer astronauts medical care after the crew module splashes down at the end of a flight. The New York pararescuemen are participating in joint NASA/Department of Defense training exercises to test recovery equipment for NASA's new spacecraft, the Orion.
