Northern Lights is a joint training opportunity in which U.S. and Swedish armed forces conduct realistic combat-focused exercises including area reconnaissance and screening operations to build combat readiness and enhance combined operational capacity. The New York National Guard has a State Partnership Program relationship with Sweden's military.
