Alexander Bazhenov, a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear specialist with the 222nd Chemical Company, 104th Military Police Battalion, celebrates a successful iteration on the M17 pistol lane during the 2023 State Best Warrior Competition on Camp Smith, N.Y., April 5, 2023. Bazhenov was one of six soldiers from across the state competing in a variety of soldiering skills. The winners were Sgt. Philip Stevenson and Spc. Adam Crist, both assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment.

New York Troops Train for Disaster Derailment

VALHALLA N.Y.- New York Army National Guard Soldiers from the decontamination element of the Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear enterprise prepare a simulated casualty for decontamination during a disaster response exercise here Aug. 9 at the Westchester County Fire Training Center. The CBRN Enterprise part of the Homeland Response Force Region II trained here this week to prepare its Soldiers and Airmen to extract casualties from a contaminated incident provide decontamination to both ambulatory and litter patients and conduct medical triage to assist civil authorities.
