COMMANDERS CITATION

a. The NYG-CIT serves to recognize outstanding meritorious performance by groups of two or more New York Guard members in a difficult and challenging mission under extraordinary circumstances. Circumstances shall be deemed to be extraordinary when they do not represent the typical day-to-day circumstances under which this group normally performs, or may reasonably be expected to perform. The award may be made in the areas of service, achievement or bravery. When awarded for bravery, a "V", device shall be affixed to the ribbon bar. b. The NYG-CIT is a green and white ribbon surrounded by a gold metal frame. It is to be worn as a unit citation just above the right breast pocket or equivalent and is worn after all Federal unit awards and any foreign national unit awards. Air Division personnel will wear this in precedence order as is Air Force policy. c. For recommendation, use memorandum format with citation as per NYG-COM. d. Bronze oak leaf clusters will be awarded in lieu of additional medals. A silver oak leaf cluster will be awarded in lieu of five bronze.
