This website does not collect personally-identifiable information, except that which you provide knowingly and voluntarily such as on a feedback form, request for information form or registration form. Our host collects statistical data in the form of page visits and referrers, neither of which are a means to identify or track individual users.
Cookies: This site neither sets nor retrieves cookies, nor has it done so since its inception. This practice is at our discression Please note, however, that we may do so in the future, either to make your visit smoother or for some other purpose we do not currently anticipate.
Geek stuff: We do use some javascript (vers < 1.5) and some CSS (linked, embedded, or inline depending on what the webmaster felt like the day he wrote it). CSS output is checked with various browsers, but some rendering discrepancies are tolerated where the differences do not (in the webmaster's sole and almost-unreviewable opinion) detract significantly from appearance or intelligibility of the page in question.
Otherwise, the code is deliberately "plain vanilla" HTML validated for (or close to) the w3c 4.01 specifications and CSS level 1 and 2. Webmasters spot check rendering of most pages with (Windows versions of ) FireFox, Mozilla, Opera, NS7 *1, IE6 and with various *nix graphical browsers. So far, actual tests of audible rendering using a browser designed for the visually challenged remains a “todo.”
*1 Site statistics show that use of NS versions < 6.0 and IE < 5.5 has almost entirely ended. Since NS 4.79, previously used as one of our “older browser” benchmarks, does not support CSS at all well, while using CSS makes it easier for webmasters to approach compliance with Section 508, we can no longer offer any assurance that current or future pages will render properly in IE 4.n or NS 4.n.
Currently, only the most fundamental cgi scripts are in use (for mailhandling and the like) and no JAVA. Most pages are optomized for 800x600 but should display adequately at 640x480 or at resolutions > 800x600. If you find any disparities between the statements here and your observation, please email the webmaster: ng.ny.nyarng.list.dmnawm@army.mil. Including URL(s) for exceptions is very helpful.
We attempt to offer the most current, correct and clearly expressed information possible about DMNA, the New York National Guard and New York's militia forces. Nonetheless, errors can occur and statements presented may be overtaken by events. If you find a mistake, please call it to webmaster's attention at ng.ny.nyarng.list.dmnawm@army.mil.
