Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. New York Naval Militia Southern Command encompasses that part of the state including New York City, Long Island, and the lowest reaches of the Hudson Valley. As the Naval Militia’s most populous region, Southern Command’s primary focus is the homeland security of New York’s metropolitan area.
