Soldier demonstrates skills at State Fair

SYRACUSE-- New York Army National Guard Sgt. Adam Simmons, a member of Bravo Company of the 427th Brigade Support Battalion, works on a project at the Army National Guard display at the New York State Fair on August 21, 2022. The company set up their metal working shop at the fair and worked on projects in order to demonstrate the range of skills National Guard Soldiers can learn. The fair runs through the Labor Day weekend.

Airdrop Training at Fort Drum

Fort Drum, NY New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to 427th Brigade Support Battalion, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, conduct container delivery system training in conjunction with the New York Air National Guard's 109th Airlift Wing. During the training a C-130J Hercules transport aircraft airdropped pallets of supplies which were then collected and transported by 427th logisticians.

Clearing Roofs, Reducing Risks, Troops Helping out

Soldiers from Company A, 427th Brigade Support Battalion, based in Rochester, assist in snow removal from the roof of the Absolut Care assisted living senior care center in Orchard Park, New York November 22. The 42 Soldiers, commanded by Capt. David Myones from South Ozone Park, New York, were joined by an additional dozen volunteer members of the New York Guard state defense force, called to duty by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to help with recovery efforts in Western New York following historic amounts of snowfall this week. Myones’ company also has Soldiers conducting logistics support fueling missions and supporting the joint task force mission command. Within four days of callup, the New York National Guard has employed more than 625 Soldiers, Airmen, Naval Militia and New York Guard members to assist Erie County and the City of Buffalo restore essential services.

Best Warrior Competion Held at Camp Smith

Joseph O’ Connor re-assembles a M249 Squad Automatic Weapon during the New York Army National Guard’s Best Warrior Competition here April 5. About a dozen New York Army National Guard Soldiers from various units across the state took part in the three-day competition, which tests troops’ physical fitness, military knowledge, endurance, marksmanship, land-navigation abilities and other soldier skills. At the Direction of Governor Andrew Cuomo the New York Army and Air National Guard mobilized more than 260 Soldiers and Airmen and had another 100 on standby.

New Commander for 427th Brigade Support Battalion

Connelly Food Service Competition. More than a dozen Cooks and Soldiers from the Foxtrot Company food service section setup their field kitchen and prepared meals for review by a team of Army evaluators. Western New York Soldiers Home

NIAGARA FALLS AIR RESERVE STATION-- Members of the New York Army National Guard’s 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team return from demobilization at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on Friday, Jan. 25.The Soldiers conducted security and logistics support missions in Kuwait, other Persian Gulf nations and Afghanistan. They were the last large lift of 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team Soldiers to return home from a Mobilization which began last January.

New York Troops Return Home to Families
