Command Sergeant Major Joseph Marino entered service in the New York Army National Guard on March 21 1980.
Past assignments include Helicopter Repairer for Company D 3-142 AVN, AH-1 Attack Helicopter Repairer and Crew Chief for Company B 3-142 AVN. Platoon Sergeant for Company C 3-142 AVN. He also served as a Technical Inspector and an Aircraft Quality Control Supervisor for Company D 3-142 AVN. CSM Marino also served as a 1SG for both HHC 3-142 AVN and the HHC 42nd CAB.
In his past 32 years of service, he has responded to the Beirut Barracks Bombing while in the Marine Corp. He has assisted in both Super storm Sandy and Hurricane Irene that affected most of New York State. He was also deployed as 1SG of HHC 3-142 AVN to Iraq for Operation Enduring Freedom.
His military training includes: Basic training, Advanced Individual Training, Marine Noncommissioned Officer Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course. He is also a member of the Enlisted Association of both the New York Army National Guard and of the United States.

Command Sergeant Major Marino is married to his wife Brenda for 25 years. They have a son Joseph.
