Clean And Green Team Picks Up Along Griffiss Road

EADS Air National Guardsmen braved the elements last Saturday to scour 1.5 miles of highway at Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome, N.Y. In addition to enough run of the mill litter to fill 38 garbage bags , the group collected 10 junk tires and a large foam cushion.

Eastern Air Defense Sector Guardsmen Fight for "Top Scope" Honors

Capt. Chris Crumb, a Weapons Controller at the Eastern Air Defense Sector, simulates controlling a mission. Recently, the Weapons and Tactics shop held the unit’s first-ever semiannual ‘Top Scope’ competition. The competition is designed to help members of the unit achieve one of the overarching goals of the Sector, which is to improve mission effectiveness.

Airmen Return from Deployment to Kyrgyzstan

New York Guardsmen Lend Help to Track Santa’s Flight Path

Staff Sgt. Robert Hale, Northeast Air Defense Sector identification technician keeps a close eye on tracking Santa. To ensure Santa is safe and on schedule, the Air National Guard will ensure that their alert fighter aircraft, controlled by NEADS, are prepared to fly and help Santa at a moment’s notice, if needed. And in case of poor flying weather, NEADS will provide jolly Saint Nick navigation and guidance.
