CAMP SMITH-- Members of the Army National Guard Team from the 1st Battalion 69th Infantry which won the annual Adjutant General’s Combat Sustainment Training Exercise or "TAG Match" for 2015 are: from right Capt. Michael Sicinski, Staff Sgt. Michael Palopoli, Sgt. Mathew Melendez, and Sgt. Zachary Keckley. The previous winning team from the 107th Airlift Wing had won every year since 2009.

NEW YORK-- The color guard of the 1st Battalion 69th Infantry leads the way as 750 Soldiers and guests lead the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade up 5th Avenue on Saturday, March 16. NEW YORK -- New York Army National Guard Spec. Eric Ramos a member of the 1st Battalion 69th Infantry, provides a class on how to use the heater in FEMA emergency rations to volunteers at Confucius Plaza . New York National Guard delivery and distribution of food and water at this one location services two buildings (44 stories and 22 stories) with a population of over 3000 people. The residents are non-english speaking and the videos and presentation will assist volunteers with safety and use as they conduct health and wellness checks daily.

NEW YORK -The New York Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion 69th Infantry, steps off up Fifth Avenue during the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17.The battalion, famous as the "Fighting 69th" of Civil War, WWI and WWII service, has led the New York City St. Patrick’s Day parade for more than 160 years.

Constance Mangano of Greenlawn, NY, with the help of Huntington City Council member Mark Cuthbertson unveil the newly named street named after Constances’ deceased son Anthony Mangano. This street was dedicated in the memory of Spc. Anthony L. Mangono on the third year anniversary of his death in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Lt. Col. James Gonyo, commander of the New York Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion 69th Infantry displays the crucifix carried by Sgt. Joyce Kilmer, a famous poet and member of the 69th Infantry’s intelligence section who was killed in action in World War I. Kilmer’s crucifix has been handed down from commander to commander since then and carried on a daily basis. Kilmer, who wrote the poem "Trees" penned the poem "Rouge Bouquet" about death on the battlefield shortly before his own death.

Lt Col John Andonie, the Battalion Commander of the 1-69th receives the Logan-Duffy trophy from Lt. Col. Thomas Stewart, Battalion Commander 1st Battalion 182nd Infantry Regiment. The ’Fighting 69th” won the match by two shots October 2, 2010. The trophy will be brought to the armory of the regiment where it will be displayed until the two regiments meet again.
