“Flags from the Heart & Home” This exhibition showcases ten conserved battle flags that New Yorkers presented to local volunteer regiments during the Civil War. Each flag signifies a community’s devotion to its patriot sons and a soldier’s dedication to home, country, and cause. Not only does this exhibit acknowledge New York State’s patriotic spirit, but it also presents the tangible emblems that inspired 400,000 volunteers to preserve the very fabric of their society.
The ten flags included within “Flags from the Heart & Home are: 133rd Regiment New York
