QUEENS--Members of the New York Guard’s 88th Brigade take part in a ceremony commemorating members of the Irish Brigade who died during the Civil War Battle of Fredericksburg, which took place from Dec. 11-15 in 1862.
During the Dec. 11, 2010 ceremony New York Guard members were joined by members of the New York National Guard’s 1st Battalion 69th Infantry, and the Veterans Corps of Artillery, an historic military unit, in placing a wreath at a memorial to the Irish Brigade in First Calvary Cemetery.
