NEW YORK-- Members of the 102nd and 103rd Rescue Squadrons of the 106th Rescue Wing assigned to the New York Air National Guard, pose with Slovenian President Borut Pahor on in at the Slovenian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City on May 21, 2017. The Airmen were awarded the Slovenian Medal for Merit in the military field for their international rescue mission to render aid to crew members injured in an explosion on board the motor vessel Tamar that began on April 24th.
