CAMP SMITH-- New York Naval Militia Sergeant Christopher Vega receives the New York State Medal for Valor from Naval Militia Rear Admiral Ten Eyck "Trip" Powell during a ceremony held at Camp Smith Training Site in Cortlandt Manor on Wednesday, March 14. Vega was recognized for ignoring potential threats to his own life while saving the life of a truck driver injured in a Jan. 4 accident in Peekskill.
