LATHAM- Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general of New York, presents the New York State Conspicuous Service Medal to New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs webmaster William Albrecht during a short ceremony at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham on August 19, 2021. Albrecht was honored for his work in creating a COVID-19 vaccination webpage which allowed National Guard Soldiers and Airmen, veterans, and employees to make appointments for vaccinations online at multiple locations, while also allowing National Guard leaders to easily track the numbers of shots given.
