STRATTON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE-- An LC-130 Skibird ski-equipped aircraft assigned to the New York Air National Guards 109th Airlift Wing leaves Stratton Air National Guard Base in Scotia New Yoirk heading to Antarctica on Nov. 15 2021. The wing flies the largest ski-equipped aircraft in the world and supports National Science Foundation research in Antarctica. The wing is deploying five aircraft and 184 Airmen on the missions this year
