OLD BETHPAGE- New York Guard Lt. Col. Lt. Col. Christopher St. Victor-de Pinho, accepts the colors of the New York Guard's 88th Area Command during change-of-command ceremonies conducted on Sept. 17 at the Museum of American Armor in Old Bethpage, New York. The New York Guard is comprised of volunteers who augment the National Guard during state missions. The 88th Area Command traces its heritage to the 88th New York Infantry, a part of the Irish Brigade in he Civil War.
