The Department of Defense policy authorizes static displays of aviation equipment for public events such as:
- Air shows
- Dedications of airports
- Armed Forces Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- POW/MIA Day
- Veterans Day
To request an aircraft display:
- Complete sections I, II, III, V, VI and VII of the DD2535 request for Military Aerial Support form.
- Have landowner complete and sign the Military Aircraft Hold Harmless Agreement.
- Fax both forms to the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs (DMNA) Public Affairs Office - (518) 786-4649, ATTN: MSG Corine Lombardo or attach the form in a email to corine.lombardo@us.army.mil
For assistance with this request process, contact the New York National Guard Public Affairs Office @ (518)786-4581.
NOTES ON AIRCRAFT DISPLAY REQUESTS:
- Your request should be submitted 90 days prior to the event to be considered for support. Less than 90 days notice greatly reduces the chance that support will be available. Requests received within 15 days of the event will NOT be considered.
- Once the Public Affairs Office receives your request, it will be reviewed to determine your events eligibility. If approved, your request will be forwarded to an appropriate aviation unit to determine aircraft and crew availability.
- Aircraft availability depends on training schedules, mission requirements and crew availability. Approval of your request does not guarantee aircraft availability.
