Colonel Bryon L. Linnehan was commissioned Military Police on 22 May, 2001, and later completed a branch transfer to Military Intelligence. After completing a second branch transfer, he holds the Logistics Branch. Past assignments include Executive Officer in Alpha Company, 3-13th Infantry Battalion, Ft. Jackson, South Carolina; Platoon Leader and Company XO in 188th Military Police Company, 728th Military Police Battalion, Republic of Korea; Assistant S-2, 1/8 Cav (Armor) and Intelligence Operations Battle Captain, G2, 1st Cavalry Division, Baghdad, Iraq and Ft. Hood, Texas. In the New York Amy National Guard, he has served as S2, 1st Battalion 69th Infantry “Fighting Sixty-Ninth” Regiment; Intelligence Operations Officer and Deputy G-2, TAC 2, 42d Infantry Division; and Commander, HHC, Camp Smith Training Site; Battalion Executive Officer for the 369th Special Troops Battalion, 369th Sustainment Brigade; J33 Branch Chief, JFHQ-NY; Support Operations Officer for the 369th Sustainment Brigade; Commander, HHBN; and Command Liaison Section Team Lead, 42d Infantry “Rainbow” Division.
While in an ADOS capacity, Colonel Linnehan has served as Orient Shield Project Officer, FEMA Region II Homeland Response Force Full-Time Operations Planner, and as Operations Officer, 369th Special Troops Battalion. His short tours include Korea, two deployments to Iraq during OIF II and OIF 06-08, and a third deployment to Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom (Spartan Shield) with the 369th Sustainment Brigade “Harlem Hellfighters.”
Colonel Linnehan is a graduate of Airborne School, Dunker/HEEDS, Military Police Officer Basic Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Military Intelligence Officer Transition and Captains Career Courses, OPSEC Level 2, Tracking, HUMINT Management Course, Counterintelligence Course, AT Level 2, ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800, IS 340 (HAZMAT Prevention) and 836 (NRI Annex), LTC 012 (HAZMAT), DSCA Phases 1-2, HAZMAT Operations, DRRS, JLLIS, Emergency Response to Terrorism, HAZMAT Awareness, Intermediate Level Education – Common Core, Support Operations Course Phase 1, the Senior Transportation Officer Qualification Course and the Reserve Component Theater Sustainment Course, the Advanced Operations Course (AOC), the Human Resources Management Qualification Course (HRMQC), the U.S. Army War College (USAWC), and the Battalion Senior Officer Legal Orientation (SOLO) course.
Colonel Linnehan is a 2001 Distinguished Military Graduate of the Johns Hopkins University where he majored in Political Science. He also holds a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Korea Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with Oak Leaf Cluster, Overseas Training Ribbon, Global War on Terror Expeditionary and Service Medals, Iraq Campaign Medal, the NY Military Commendation Medal and NY Humane Service Medal. He has also been awarded the German Military Proficiency Badge (Gold), Combat Action Badge, Army Parachutist Badge, Valorous Unit Award and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
Colonel Linnehan is married to his wife Kristy and has two sons - Conner and Rex.
