Since Sept. 11, 2001, 23 members of the New York Army National Guard have died while on duty in Iraq. During the ceremony. Brigadier General Michael Swezey, the commander of the 53rd Troop Command, urged the audience of Soldiers and civilian employees to "Never Forget" their colleagues who have made the supreme sacrifice.
