CAMP SMITH- Members of the 442nd MP Company and the 104th MP Battalion, go through Soldier Readiness Checks Saturday, Jan. 17, at Camp Smith Training Site as they prepare to deploy to Washington D.C. to support the inaguration of Barack Obama as president of the United States.
The New York National Guard is sending 225 members of the New York Army and Air National Guard to Washington to assist the District of Columbia National Guard with traffic control and communications. The Soldiers and Airmen mustered at Camp Smith before heading to Washington on Jan. 18. Their service and health records were checked as part of the inprocessing at Camp Smith.
