Teaching the Young How to Fly

MACHIAS, N.Y. - Sergeant Michael Aquilina, standing to the left of the CH-47D 'Chinook' helicopter, watches as Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) Soldiers board the aircraft in preparation for an orientation flight from a farmers field in Machias.

The 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade initiated the program in 2008 encouraging incoming New York aviation units to expose Soldiers to a working knowledge of aviation missions and capabilities.
