Vigilant Guard Underway In Western New York

TONAWANDA --Members of the New York National Guard CERFP ( Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, High Yield Explosive (CBRNE) Enhance Response Force Package, made up of National Guard Soldiers and Airmen and the all-volunteer New York Guard ( In old-style BDU uniforms) move a simulated casualty to the decontamination site at the former Spaulding Fiber Plant in Tonawanda, NY on Monday Nov. 2.
The site has been equipped with a rubble pile which simulates a hospital collapsed in a 5.9 Richter earthquake. The operation is part of Exercise Vigilant Guard which teams almost 1,500 National Guard troops with civilian responders.
