STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Newburgh-- Airmen from the 105th Airlift Wing's Logistic Squadron load cargo belonging to New York Task Force 1, New York City's FEMA-sponsored urban search and rescue team on board a C-17 bound for Haiti early Saturday morning, Jan. 16.
Two C-17s from the 21st Airlift Squadron at Travis Air Force Base, California, picked up the 80-person team and transported them to Haiti. The 105th Airlift Wing stored the teams' equipment while they waited for transportation to participate in the earthquake relief effort.
