STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, N.Y. - Representative Maurice Hinchey outlines plans to construct a solar energy complex at Stewart ANGB during a press conference held at the base on Monday, Jan. 25.
The federal governnment will spend $4 million to construct a solar array that will up to three quarters of a megawatt of electricity, satisfying half of the bases power needs. The array will occupy four to six acresat the site.
U.S. Rep Maurice Hinchey detailed the future solar energy complex being built here later this year. The project is the largest solar initiative in the Hudson Valley and will assist toward meeting the Air Force�s goal of all bases using 25% renewable resources by the 2025.
