NEW YORK-- New York Army National Guard Major Tanya Pennella greats her daughter Angelina Pennella after returning from 10 months service in Iraq with the 53rd Army Liaison Team.
Pennella and other members of the small, specialist unit, returned to their headquarters at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan on Saturday, Jan. 30. The members of the 53rd provided specialists to man both U.S. and Iraqi headquarters in Baghdad and also provided members of the U.S. commanders personal security detachment.
