QUEENS--New York Army National Guard Soldiers, Sgt. Aaron Hess (left) and Spc. Yuriy Ostrovskiy, patrol Terminal 5 at John F. Kennedy International Airport on June 29.
The two Soldiers, both members of Joint Task Force Empire Shield, the New York National Guard security force operating in New York City, were taking part in a security exercise headed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department.
More than 200 members of the Army and Air National Guard, and the New York Guard, a state defense force, participate in the task force.
