TROY -- New York Army National Guard Maj. Gen. Steven N. Wickstrom receives his two-star rank from his wife Collette during a promotion ceremony here Feb. 12. Wickstrom, commander of the 42nd Infantry Division, has commanded the division since the spring of 2009. Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy, the New York State Adjutant General presided over the general officer promotion. Wickstrom was promoted in front of about 200 Soldiers of the 42nd Divison Headquarters, leaders of the division’s aligned-for-training brigades and directors of the Joint Force Headquarters staff of the New York National Guard.
