LATHAM - Chief Warrant Officer Steven Derry,the last Vietnam era helicopter pilot in the New York Army National Guard, is congratulated by friends and co-workers following his last official flight as an Army aviation pilot on June 14.
Derry, a Corinth, N.Y. resident and member of 3rd Battalion, 142nd Assault Helicopter Battalion started training as a pilot in 1969 and served in Veitnam in 1970-71.
