Lapse in Appropriations The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Air Guardsmen Prep to Support Shuttle Crew

PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, Florida-- Rescue and medical personnel from NASA and the New York Air National Guard’s 106th Rescue Wing study the astronaut flight suit at Patrick Air Force Base on July 7 as members of the wing prepare to provide rescue support for the final Space Shuttle launch on July 8. The men and women of the 106th supported more than 100 Space Shuttle launches.
