SCOTIA-- New York Army National Guard Brig. Gen. Michael Swezey thanks members of the New York Naval Militia, who also serve with the United States Navy Reserve for their service during the state response to Tropical Storm Irene during a ceremony at the Scotia Armed Forces Reserve Center on Sunday, Dec. 4. Swezey, who commanded Joint Task Force Irene during the storm response, presented New York State Humanitarian Service Medals to 40 Naval Reserve members during the Sunday morning event.
