ALBANY- New York Army National Guard Major Denise Sherman leads the Pledge of Allegiance during ceremonies that kicked off Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo&rsquot;s State-of-The-State at the Empire State Convention Center on Wednesday January 4. A New York Army National Guard Honor Guard also participated in the event and 50 members of the New York Army and Air National Guard, representing the 4,000 Guard members who responded to Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, were honored by the governor during his remarks.
