NEW YORK--Major General Robert Wolfe, the commander of the New York Naval Militia, presents the New York State Defense of Liberty Medal to New York Guard Major Michael Lonski on May 23. The award recognizes the support that Lonksi, a trauma psychologist, provided to members of the National Guard and the New York Military Forces in the days following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center.
