KANDAHAR, Afghanistan--A color guard stands at attention during the Transition of Authority Ceremony conducted here on Monday, Oct. 15 as the New York Army National Guard's 101st Expeditionary Signal Battalion took over the duties of providing communications support to American and Coalition forces in the country. The 101st replaced the Alabama Army National Guard's 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion. This is the first time since the Korean War that the colors of the battalion have been unfurled in a combat zone.
